How to navigate the archive :
By clicking on one of the years of the war, the user will be directed to a photo archive containing photos documented corresponding to that year. The photos will be titled using the system :
(14/15/16/17/18.XX.A/B)
(year of the war, photo in the series, and A for front / B for back)
Additionally, each photo will contain the date given or present, the location where the photo was taken, the author of the postcard, and any combatants traceable through the photo or writing. Note as well :
FM = Fiche de Matricule (Registration document of the soldier)
The information following “FM:” can be copied to access the soldier’s registration document.
Mle = Matricule (Soldier’s registration ID number)
MPLF = Mort pour la France (Killed for France)
